(x) Enjoyed this year overall (one of my best years ever!)

So yeah! I guess I'll try to remember what happened this year .... started off good ... January nothing crazy happened. Mike had his 21st bday and had a surprise party where I met his best friend Joel for the first time, and a couple other friends. That was fun ... February ... hmm ... nothin huge ... March ... erm ... no ... April ... lol ... nothing extremely eventful ... May was a great month though. I was really depressed because he was going on that trip with his dad for 2 weeks. Well two days before he left he told me he loved me for the first time. I'll never forget that ... while playing Star Wars: Episode III on PS2 nonetheless, lol ... it was great. I had told him I loved him about 5 months proir ... anyhoo ... he ended up going on the trip for only a week, coming back because his mom and stepdad got in a big fight. To make up for it we went to Florida in July ... 12 - 19! We went to Disneyworld, Ron Jon's Surf Shop, Cocoa Beach, Tampa, Gatorland, Medieval Times ... all sorts of sweet stuff. Went to Key West, Sanibel Island, almost got eaten by sharks ... not even joking. They were about 100 feet away. Pretty crazy ... August ... nothin super huge ... I went on the pill back in June and it made me extremely grouchy ... now that I've been off it for over a month we've noticed quite a change in my mood. Celebrated our one year anniversary on November 19 :) But really this was a great year; totally flew by though!

So how was everyone else's year??

Should I? ....

I can't decide if I want to put my two weeks notice in at the video store tonight. This is the only day I work all week ... I know it's only ONE day a week (I was scheduled for two but I called off Monday because I was double scheduled - Grinder's is more important) ... but just going there for even ONE nite is annoying. I'm going to miss the free rentals though. Coming back to Movie Gallery after quitting for about two months made me realize WHY I left. I used to work at a location in Rittman, for about 2 years. I left because the manager was getting aggravating (we're friends now) and the district manager was a turd (she's fired) ... to try different jobs. Movie Gallery was my first job from Aug 03 - Sep 05. Plus, I only made .15 cents more when I quit than when I started. Anyway, I needed a job again after hating Wal-Mart and Citgo, so I just went to a different location, in Orrville. But here, the manager is even more of an idiot, and the other employees are assholes. I loved my other coworkers in Rittman, but there isn't one saving grace at this store. So, are the free game rentals worth it? It's gonna be nice now that Mike has this xbox 360 .. but ... I don't think it's worth it. Mike doesn't think it is, either, and he knows how I am when I'm aggravated ... he'd rather I quit than get free games  Part of the reason I stayed in Rittman so long was because my friend Lee worked there. She is a really good friend of mine, but eventually I just had to quit anyway - she now manages her own store :) :) So yeah ... it's just a matter of doing it. It's aggravating, because I know that she's gonna either be like "Oh please stay, we've got all these new people ... " OR, she's gonna say "Fine, good, we have plenty of people, we don't care." I put a lot of work into that place for only $5.40/hr and I like the customers - but the aggravation isn't worth my time. I'd like to try to find another waitressing job, or I might just stick with Grinders a little longer.

Speaking of Grinders ... I worked only 11:30 - 3:30 today and made nearly $60 8) I had a table of 9 that left me $10 (not nearly as much as I should've gotten from those needy people but better than nothing considering it was 4 kids) and a table of 7 that gave me $11. I busted my ass between 2 - 3 pm because I was basically the only server ... so I deserved the $$! ::happy sigh:: I really like waitressing. That extra dough sure made up for the couple lousy tables that only left me $2 or less ... grr!

Well, I have to work at the video store tonight too, blah ... so I'm gonna play a little bit of Riven before I gotta go ... ciao!

A great Christmas!

This was definitely the best Christmas ever! Not just for the kickass presents I got but for just spending time with Mike and his family ... it was great. Let me see what happened over the past couple days ... this is just kind of a blog to almost remind myself of what happened .. sorry if it's boring!

I got up at 7 am and unwrapped presents at my house. The best things I got were a $20 gift certificate to the thrift store (I LOVE Goodwill!) and a spice rack for my cooking supplies :) I didn't get a whole lot from my mom and Mike because they got me this computer ::hugs tower:: but everything I got was awesome! Then I went over Mike's house around 9 am and opened presents with them and the foster kids. It was a REALLY nice time, we took turns opening presents and seeing what everyone got ... it was really fun. I got a Hello Kitty comforter, pillowcase, and pillows from his mom ... Mike got me some great stuff! He got me some Zelda pajama pants, "Ice Age" on DVD (I'm watching it now, I love this movie!!), a new necklace and earrings :), and THIS GUY!!

It's Gulliver from the Gamecube version of Animal Crossing!!! He rules!! He is so cute!! They are pretty rare, too, I guess he got him online  So anyhoo after we hung out for a while we went to Mike's grandma's house. She is so nice. I felt so bad though, she'd just had surgery and some of Mike's relatives weren't being very sensitive to that. I felt bad because I didn't get to see my grandma though :( So after that ... we went back to Mike's house with his dad and Mike's stepdad's daughter and her husband were there. They are very affluent ... they spent $600,000 on a yacht and live in a townhouse on Lake Erie. They were kind of uppity ... Mike's dad got me the new Myst! Myst V, End of Ages!!! We're gonna have to talk about it, Kat ^.^ I can't play it yet though because it's the DVD-Rom version and I haven't installed the DVD drive I have yet. Or that darn graphics card. Mike'll do that next time he's over  And his dad also got me a really good size bottle of Calvin Klein's "Obsession" perfume o_O My mom said that had to be pretty expensive. I just couldn't believe all the gifts I got, and what a good day it was! Mike got his PSP ... I played some "GTA: Libery City Stories" on it and man, it looks GREAT. The Dave Chappelle UMD I got him looked great too. He hadn't hooked up his x-box 360 by the time I left today (I stayed the night) but he said he played it tonight and it is great. He got the game "Gun" and is gonna go buy "Perfect Dark Zero" ::dies:: I love Perfect Dark ... if there was any female game character that I had to say was frigging awesome it'd be Joanna Dark. I love her hair and she looks great! This weekend is gonna be cool because his parents are going away for the weekend 8)

Anyway .... sorry if this post was kinda self centered ... I just had a great time though. I loved spending time with everyone, and seeing everyone open the gifts I got them ... Mike's dad said he loved the xbox games I got for him (Mike got his dad an xbox) ... and Mike's mom liked the stuff I got for her and Dan, some decorative stuff since they have quite a decor going on in their house. And I got them "Elf" which we watched ... but anyway I'm rambling like crazy. However here is a pic of my sweet Zelda pajamas!

They are super comfy!!! And on that note ... guess I better be hittin' the hay ... or play some Animal Crossing ... :D Ciao! Hope everyone had a merry Christmas!

Blah blah blah...

What to write about tonight ... it's past 2:30 early Christmas morning and I am still awake ... I went to Mike's tonight and we had fun playing Animal Crossing DS. It's not fair ... he has a koala living in his town! Koalas are MY favorite animal!!!!

Work was boring tonight. I only worked a flipping 2 hour shift, excluding closing the store ... I closed everything up and got me and the other girl out of there by 8:30 tonight, which wasn't bad considering we closed at 8 and I had three drawers to count down and we had a $1500 deposit.
I found THE CUTEST hoodie yesterday at the store while I was finishing up my Christmas shopping ... here it is!!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I have entirely too many Hello Kitty items.

Ugh .. I have to get up in like 4 hours ... and I'm not tired at all!!! :| I guess we're going to Mike's grandma's house tomorrow too. She's so nice! Mike's getting an xbox 360 and a psp for Christmas too. He deserves all of it though... he works hard ... and he spent a lot on me for Christmas, especially with the computer ...

Does anyone else get aggravated by really little stuff? Like, Mike has a picture of us by his computer, the same one I have, and it's like ... making its way farther and farther out of view ... and he loves "Ah My Goddess" and shows like that which are about one boy who finds tons of perfect girls who love him ... I think that bugs me more than anything ... and I've brought it up to him before but he doesn't care. He's really independent ... I like anime a lot, obviously, but I just hate the girls in a lot of them, how oversexed they are. Mike says its just art. I guess ... it really bothers me a lot of the time, though. I don't want to be a spiteful jerk and try to do the stuff to him that he does to me, but sometimes I feel like I have to for him to understand. But anytime I try to just vent about stuff like this he gets all defensive and doesn't really listen to what I'm saying, so I just bottle it up for a while ... I know I just have to accept that that's how he is, but it's hard, you know? I'm a very insecure person and it's like ... I don't want him liking stuff that has to do with girls that are ten million times more beautiful than I ever could be, you know? I hate it when he wears his shirts of these half naked women that look so much better than I do. It's like ... rub it in my face, why don't you.

So I feel bad I guess if Mike reads this ... I don't know if he does though. ::sigh:: I just needed to get that out I guess.

.... Stole this from bitterwaitress.com. It is so true!!!

As to the perception that a given customer only gets "a few minutes of our time.

Before you arrived we rolled your silverware.

Before you arrived we set your table.

We brewed your tea/coffee, sliced your lemons Set up whatever "complimentary" foodstuffs our restaurant offers, etc.

When you arrived we greeted you. Brought you drinks, rolls, chips, relish, tortillas, biscuits, scones, creamer, a few more napkins, the fresh salsa not the 15 min. old crap, and strwberry preserves, not just grape jelly.

We took your entire party's order, easy if it's off the menu, harder if it begins with "All I really want is...." and we convert it from what makes perfect sense to you into something our cook will be able to glance at prioritize and properly prepare, even if what you want never thought of being on a menu.

We get your third refill, and of course there's no problem with bringing more biscuits.

We bring your food. Find out what you really wanted, which may look remarkably like whatever your friend, or the table next to you ordered.

We return with your new order (our fault entirely, happens all the time, evil menus)

Refill.

Bring dessert.

Accept your payment, making change from our own money and taking the financial risk on ourselves that you'll skip.

All while dodging your kid, waiting for you to interrupt your cell phone call to talk to us, and paying a percentage of your bill out to hostesses, busboys, bartenders and food runners whether we get tipped or not so that management doesn't have to pay minimun wage to any of them.

And we get to do it for four + tables at once.

And we get to clean up afterwards!!! Wheee!!!!

Yeah I guess 10% sounds more than adequate.

P.s. If we all got better jobs, no one would be there to wait on your crabby ass, and if you wanted to get it your own damn self you'd be having a hungry-man (tm) right now.

"Thank y'all for coming in! You have a great evening!"

Home Alone :)

Because I can turn my music all the way up!!! Some good songs to listen to really loud:

Chemical Brothers: Come With Us
Daft Punk: Human After All, Robot Rock, Short Circuit, Technologic ... actually, every song by them.
Spineshank: Synthetic
Beastie Boys: Intergalactic
Deadsy: Key to Gramercy Park, Le Cirque en Rose ... any of their songs too :)

Hell yeah ... Mike's out shopping with his dad, my mom is at work, Rick and my stepbrothers went to family shit ... 8) I love just blasting music ... and wrapping presents :) I'll make a list of the presents I bought for Mike since I finally finished it up ... MIKE if you're reading this, STOP!

Animal Crossing DS
The Selected Prose and Poetry of Edgar Allen Poe (book)
Irish Folk Tales (book)
On Not Reading Shakespeare (book ... he has too many classes about that dude)
Ong Bak, the Thai Warrior (movie)
Suikoden III Geddoe figure
Suikoden IV Hero figure
The Family Guy Movie
Dave Chappelle's recent stand up thing (funny as hell) on UMD for PSP

And ... I think that's it ... I feel like there was something else but I can't remember if there was ...

Sorry I haven't been on a lot lately. I've been either working, shopping, playing Animal Crossing DS, or sleeping, basically. The only day I actually have off this week is Christmas itself. I think I really do need to quit the video store, but I'll miss the free rentals too much ..

EVERYONE HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY HANUKKAH, GREAT KWANZAA, WHATEVER HOLIDAY YOU CELEBRATE!!! Don't be so caught up in the names of the holidays you forget that someone wants you to enjoy them!!!! (Whatevs ... lol)

A boring day...

I cried today when I saw my car for the last time  I don't really care to talk about it. I didn't think I'd be that sad, but as we drove away I realized I'd never see it again and I started crying. It was never a good car, but it was my first car ... it was good for me ...

We looked at some nice used cars. I dunno what I'm going to get. Probably not gonna worry about it until after Christmas because my mom lets me drive her car to work if I need to. I don't like her car though, it has way too much power and has a huge back end. Better than nothing though.

Ugh, Grinders closed at 8 tonight and a table sat there until 8:35, just chatting! Mike was the manager tonight, and he's like "We're not supposed to vacuum till everyone's left, but go ahead and give them a sign to get the fuck outta here." They left me a $6 tip though so I guess I shouldn't complain. I only made about $30 tonight otherwise, but it was REALLY slow.

Ho hum ... not much else to say. Wrapped some presents tonight. Gonna go Friday morning and pick up a few more things for Mike, yay :)

I've been playing Animal Crossing DS, and I paid off my loan to Tom Nook today! If anyone plays that, tell me your friend code so I can visit you!! I don't know mine yet because I don't have wireless internet but I know where to go for it ... so let me know! <3>
Night !

What's in a name?

See bottom for funny stuff ....

Today was an alright day at work. For working 8 1/2 hours, I made about $65 in tips and that's not including the approximately $20 I make for just being there ($2.50 minimum wage x 8.5 hours) ... so I guess that equals about ... $10 an hour :) Not too shabby considering I got stiffed (tip wise) today -_- That always pisses me off ... but I think I'm about to wrap some presents and watch "Goonies" because Mike keeps buggin me to watch it ... if I can set my VCR up that is; something's goofy and I don't feel like dealing with it. My computer was already acting up enough on myspace without this happening, grr!

Time to listen to some Chemical Brothers!

1. YOUR ROCK STAR NAME: (first pet and first street name)
Penny London (that's kinda kickass)

2. YOUR MOVIE STAR NAME: (grandfather/grandmother on mother's side first name, favorite candy)
Nancy Peppermint Patty

3. YOUR "FLY GIRL/GUY" NAME: (first initial of first name, first three letters of your last name)
H-Wil

4. YOUR DETECTIVE NAME: (favorite animal, name of high school mascot)
Koala Smithie

5. YOUR SOAP OPERA NAME: (middle name, city where you were born)
Erika Cleveland

6. YOUR OPPOSITE SEX NAME: (name of dad/mom, cell phone Company you use)
Richard Verizon

7. YOUR STAR WARS NAME: (first 3 letters of your last name, last 3 letters of mother's maiden name, first 3 letters of your pet's name
Wil Ers Pen (lame-o)

Off to work ...

Yep ... gonna be a long day today literally; from 11:30 - 8 pm. At least I get a little break in there sometime. It's sad because with waitressing you don't get designated breaks ... ya just rest when you've got a minute!

I went up to Kelley's Auto yesterday with Mike and the guy basically told me that the car isn't worth fixing, which is what I figured. He was SO nice though; he's like, "I could be like most auto places and just throw in this $800 part and tell you it runs fine, which it would ... but you've got suspension problems, and these things are broke ... " etc ... so we'll probably just end up scrapping it. Oh well, you have to make mistakes to learn what sort of things to look for. I'll get my sweet MP3 player out of it, and the new battery, and possibly the new tires. Next week me and my mom are going to go to the used place where her and my stepdad usually get cars. We have pretty good credit there I guess, so I'll be able to get a pretty decent car, which makes me happy :) Good thing I didn''t sign up for school though :(

Working in the new video store is really nice. All the customers love it because it's brighter and easier to find stuff. And we have fancy flat panel monitors and nice drawers (for money!) instead of those gigantic old CRT monitors, and those clangy drawers.

So I'm not doing anything tonight after work, what's new  Probably watching "Serenity" with a bag of popcorn  Mike and I are going to a restaurant called the Galaxy tomorrow night in celebration of our one year, one month anniversary. We went to the same place on our one month anniversary :) Technically our day isn't till Monday but we went on a Sunday last year ... it was blizzarding then too ... it's funny how time flies, I can still remember going around a curve on a highway exit and Mike said "If we're gonna crash anywhere, this is where it'd be!" He said he was joking ...

Well I gotta leave for work in about 10 minutes so ciao!

Johnny Cash rocks.

I love this song. The meaning is so great. It has religious tones, but if you aren't interested in that part, it still should mean a lot.

"Man in Black" Johnny Cash
Well, you wonder why I always dress in black,
Why you never see bright colors on my back,
And why does my appearance seem to have a somber tone.
Well, there's a reason for the things that I have on.

I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down,
Livin' in the hopeless, hungry side of town,
I wear it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime,
But is there because he's a victim of the times.

I wear the black for those who never read,
Or listened to the words that Jesus said,
About the road to happiness through love and charity,
Why, you'd think He's talking straight to you and me.

Well, we're doin' mighty fine, I do suppose,
In our streak of lightnin' cars and fancy clothes,
But just so we're reminded of the ones who are held back,
Up front there ought 'a be a Man In Black.

I wear it for the sick and lonely old,
For the reckless ones whose bad trip left them cold,
I wear the black in mournin' for the lives that could have been,
Each week we lose a hundred fine young men.

And, I wear it for the thousands who have died,
Believen' that the Lord was on their side,
I wear it for another hundred thousand who have died,
Believen' that we all were on their side.

Well, there's things that never will be right I know,
And things need changin' everywhere you go,
But 'til we start to make a move to make a few things right,
You'll never see me wear a suit of white.

Ah, I'd love to wear a rainbow every day,
And tell the world that everything's OK,
But I'll try to carry off a little darkness on my back,
'Till things are brighter, I'm the Man In Black.

Long day ..

But it was a good day. Went to work at Grinder's from about 11:30 - 2 ... got out a little early because we were slow. That's the weird thing about waitressing - I was scheduled till 3 but depending on how busy it is, you'll get out earlier or later sometimes. So I grabbed a bite to eat and wandered over to the (brand new!) video store around 2:30 ... I didn't have anything to do but I wasn't scheduled till 5 ... I told Theresa that I'd clock in and just work since I was bored. So I worked a little bit longer than I was scheduled but I didn't mind. I forgot to mention, we moved our Movie Gallery to a new store front because the old one was too much rent, I guess. This new store is AWESOME. It's brighter, cleaner, and laid out a lot better. So yay :)

But yep ... got outta there at about 10:30 and I'm just chilling now ... was going to watch a Margaret Cho comedy DVD but I don't feel like hooking it up -.-

And umm ... my car is having difficulties ... looks like I'm gonna end up going to a used dealership or something and leasing a used car, possibly. Mine is shot. It's not worth fixing. So I'm kinda excited that I could be getting a new (to me) car, but sad because I really liked my little Civic. Guess the head gasket is blown. Oh well ... at least I've got some money saved up. ::sigh:: Why does everything bad happen at once? .... thing had new tires, battery, and a full tank of gas. Hopefully I can siphon that out, lol. :?

Welp, I'm gonna play some Animal Crossing DS! Night!

Midday update.

Bleh ... today didn't start out so well. I didn't know I had to be at work at 10 am - I thought it was 11:30 am. Well ... at least I woke up at 10 am, lol ... so I called and told them I was running a few minutes late for miscellaneous reason ... it was okay though. I was worried I was gonna get in trouble :X

But it was SO busy at the restaurant today. I made $40+ at least. Not bad for only being on the floor for four hours. I had a couple really good, nice tables, and then I had one REALLY aggravating table. They were three old ladies and they all got hot tea. Hot tea is notoriously the most annoying drink - have to get a ... whatever tea goes in for each one, and their own cup. So that was three cups with saucers and three teapots of hot water, plus the little basket with the tea assortment. Yuck. Then a lady got French Onion soup. Long story short, I grabbed someone else's French O. and it had been sitting there awhile, instead of my fresh one. When I gave it to her, she said it was cold. Confused, I went and got the correct bowl. I wanted to make sure that one was okay, and she said "It's alright. It's better ... it's acceptable." She took like 10 seconds to say all that. She was so nasty and mean! And then they only left me $1 a piece. I discovered a website a while ago called bitterwaitress.com and I'm gonna start reading that more now that I AM a waitress.

Bleh .. paused in between paragraphs to call Mike ... he sounds aggravated ... we were gonna hang out tomorrow before work but I didn't know I had to work tomorrow ... he wanted some 'alone time' tonight which is fine but if we don't hang out tonight then we won't see each other till Sunday .< So I bothered him to hang out tonight, going shopping with his mom anyway. My schedule for the next few days ... >
Thursday
11:30 am - 3 pm at Grinders
5 pm - 10 pm at Movie Gallery
Friday
11 am - 3 pm at Grinders
5 pm - 11 pm at Movie Gallery
Saturday
11:30 am - 8 pm at Grinders
Sunday
11 am - 4 pm at Grinders

So yeah ... no free time for me. I really don't mind because I need the money, but I hate when Mike and mine's schedules conflict. It sucks. I really need the money right now because my car is still in the shop. Long story, luckily it's not gonna cost as much as I thought, but I've still got about $400 set side for it. It's a blessing and a curse to have to earn all of your own money. My mom has been buying me stuff lately because of MY child support, but I feel good owning all my own stuff and really working ... Goins knows what I'm talking about :)

I LOVE Johnny Cash ... I can't stress it enough ... here's my favorite song of today ..

"Rusty Cage" by Johnny Cash
You wired me awake
And hit me with a hand of broken nails
You tied my lead and pulled my chain
To watch my blood begin to boil

But I'm gonna break
I'm gonna break my
I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run

Too cold to start a fire
I'm burning diesel, burning dinosaur bones
I'll take the river down to still water
And ride a pack of dogs

I'm gonna break
I'm gonna break my
I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run

Hits like a Phillips head Into my brain
It's gonna be too dark
To sleep again Cutting my teeth on bars
And rusty chains,
I'm gonna break my Rusty cage and run

When the forest burns
Along the road Like God's eyes In my headlights
When the dogs are looking
For their bones
And it's raining icepicks
On your steel shore

I'm gonna break
I'm gonna break my
I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run

A good day :)

Well ... it didn't start out so well. My car was to be towed this morning, so I set my alarm for 8 am, figuring if they didn't call by then (they were gonna call before they came out), I'd get out there and clean and scrape my car so it'd look okay. Well, my mom bursts into my room at like 7:30 am and says "I cleaned out your car for you because you're too damn lazy to do it yourself" ... my mom sometimes has days where she just decides to be a bitch for absolutely no reason. On a regular day, she's a 4/10 on the bitch scale, so today she was a 10/10. :?

Anyway, Mike picked me up at about 3 pm ... we drove around with his mom looking for one of his dogs that got out last week. They've been looking for it but they heard some reports about it around a certain area so we searched for about an hour. People are weird and hillbilly-ish in this county.

We finished "Shadow of the Colossus" for PS2 .. well, Mike did. I love watching. The final colossus was so fucking hard! It took him over an hour to finish it off ... thing was like 300 x bigger than the character you controlled ... that game was awesome; I hope it wins like an innovation award or something.

I asked Mike today if he thought I was less bitchy since I've stopped taking the pill, and he says I am. So I guess that's a good thing ...

I love Johnny Cash. If you haven't heard "A Boy Named Sue" ... here are the lyrics ... ::shakes head:: The funniest song ever!

"A Boy Named Sue" by Johnny Cash
My daddy left home when I was three
And he didn't leave much to ma and me
Just this old guitar and an empty bottle of booze.
Now, I don't blame him cause he run and hid
But the meanest thing that he ever did
Was before he left, he went and named me "Sue."

Well, he must o' thought that is quite a joke
And it got a lot of laughs from a' lots of folk,
It seems I had to fight my whole life through.
Some gal would giggle and I'd get red
And some guy'd laugh and I'd bust his head,
I tell ya, life ain't easy for a boy named "Sue."

Well, I grew up quick and I grew up mean,
My fist got hard and my wits got keen,
I'd roam from town to town to hide my shame.
But I made a vow to the moon and stars
That I'd search the honky-tonks and bars
And kill that man who gave me that awful name.

Well, it was Gatlinburg in mid-July
And I just hit town and my throat was dry,
I thought I'd stop and have myself a brew.
At an old saloon on a street of mud,
There at a table, dealing stud,
Sat the dirty, mangy dog that named me "Sue."

Well, I knew that snake was my own sweet dad
From a worn-out picture that my mother'd had,
And I knew that scar on his cheek and his evil eye.
He was big and bent and gray and old,
And I looked at him and my blood ran cold
And I said: "My name is 'Sue!' How do you do!
Now youre gonna die!!"

Well, I hit him hard right between the eyes
And he went down, but to my surprise,
He come up with a knife and cut off a piece of my ear.
But I busted a chair right across his teeth
And we crashed through the wall and into the street
Kicking and a' gouging in the mud and the blood and the beer.

I tell ya, I've fought tougher men
But I really can't remember when,
He kicked like a mule and he bit like a crocodile.
I heard him laugh and then I heard him cuss,
He went for his gun and I pulled mine first,
He stood there lookin' at me and I saw him smile.

And he said: "Son, this world is rough
And if a man's gonna make it, he's gotta be tough
And I knew I wouldn't be there to help ya along.
So I give ya that name and I said goodbye
I knew you'd have to get tough or die
And it's the name that helped to make you strong."

He said: "Now you just fought one hell of a fight
And I know you hate me, and you got the right
To kill me now, and I wouldn't blame you if you do.
But ya ought to thank me, before I die,
For the gravel in ya guts and the spit in ya eye
Cause I'm the son-of-a-bitch that named you "Sue.'"

I got all choked up and I threw down my gun
And I called him my pa, and he called me his son,
And I came away with a different point of view.
And I think about him, now and then,
Every time I try and every time I win,
And if I ever have a son, I think I'm gonna name him
Bill or George! Anything but Sue! I still hate that name!

Busy day.

Yep ... ended up waking up at like 6:40 am because my mom just HAD to ask me how "Chronicles of Narnia" was from last night, even though I didn't get home till after 1 am and I had a long day  But I had to be at work at 9 am anyway so I just stayed up. Normal day at the video store ... I didn't do anything I was supposed to do

After work we had a Christmas party at Grinders, the restaurant I work at. Out of like 25 employees and being really new, I was voted "friendliest!" Everyone filled out a sheet putting in who they thought was like 'most musical, most athletic, best server, best cook, loudest, most talkative', etc. I couldn't believe I got it :) It was a really fun party. We had a $10 gift exchange ... I got a fleece throw :) It's pretty nice but I know it didn't cost $10 because I saw it at Wal-Mart the other day for $5. What can you do.

My sister is pretty sick ... I don't really feel like talking about it though. She started this new medication for her seizures and she's not having great reactions.

My mom bought a Johnny Cash CD earlier today and we listened to it in the car, so I ripped it onto my computer. His music is so different. I love "Jackson" with him and June Carter .. and "Folsom Prison Blues" ... and of course "A Boy Named Sue"!

I bought some watercolor pencils and am going to try my hand at that. Not sure how it'll turn out but I know I'm not good at painting, so we'll try this. I'm sorry I'm not commenting on a lot of my friends' blogs ... this net connection just stinks (I have to copy and paste my blog entries in case they get lost) and I've just been popping online and then getting off ... pweez forgive me!

Loooong ass day ..

Yeah ... I got up at about 8 am today ... I was supposed to work 9 - 1 pm at the video store today but I ended up working till about 3 pm because one girl called off "sick" ... went over and had the yummiest sammich ever, the cajun chicken from Grinders ... and then worked there from 4 - 11. Yeah ... a 13 hour day ... not fun. There is this one girl I really dislike at the restaurant. I had a table with kids throwing food everywhere ... then 'she' walks by saying "Gee, glad I don't have to clean that up!" And if it had been me, I would've helped. So I was talking to this other girl later on about it, not naming names, and she's like ... "Let me guess ... is it so and so?" And she was right. Bleh. I don't feel like talking about work I guess. Especially since I have to be there at 7:45 am tomorrow morning. Yay ... I'm getting really worn out. I really want to quit the video store and I think I will really soon ... especially if they expect me to work New Year's Eve ... yeah right! I've already put in my New Year's Eve, one of the new girls can work it. I'll work at Grinders if anywhere since they close at 8 pm that night, instead of 11 pm.

Anyway ... I'm flippin out of it ... called Kelly's Auto today, which is where Mike takes his truck to get worked on. They were really nice and have good prices so they're gonna tow my car over there on Monday and let me know what's going on with it. Yay :?

My feet are freezing ... and my eyes can hardly stay open ... so I'm gonna go ... ciao.

About time ..

for a new post!

I've just been so busy the past week or so. Tomorrow is going to suck hardcore; I have to work 9 - 1 at the video store and then 4 - 11 at the restaurant. Yuck. What stinks is that since my car is still MIA, I have to just chill out in between jobs - luckily they're in the same plaza. I'm calling the place Mike gets his truck worked on tomorrow to get an estimate on how much it'll cost to repair. ::sigh:: Bills, bills, bills ...

Me and Mike had a really good day today though. We kinda got into it last night online but today was cool. I picked up a new webcam at Wal-Mart tonight as well, which makes me happy ... I know it's self centered but I like taking weird pictures and doing stuff with them in Photoshop. Here are some of the ones I took tonight.

Me kissing the picture I have of Mike & me on my desk ...

Me looking bitchy ... what else is new

I thought this one looked funny :?

Me looking oh so ... something.

Which is the best one

Anyhoo ... Saturday is gonna be fun too, but busy. I work till 3, I think, and then we're going to my sister's in Mantua ... she lives in a home for other handicapped children and adults called the Hattie Larlham Foundation. She's 23 and has lived there since she was about 6 or 7. She can't walk, or speak, and we try to spend as much time with her ... I haven't been able to visit lately and Saturday is a Christmas party there so I'm happy Mike is coming with me. We're also gonna do a lil Christmas shopping :)

Anyhoo ... as a side note, I saw the Evangelion boxset on sale at Wal-Mart for about $47 ... almost bought it ... but I already spent too much money!

Night!

P.S.! I just fixed it ... I bought a really nice TV from the thrift store today for $20. Before you think "Duh, it obviously must have something wrong with it" ... well I assumed it did. But they have a 24 hour return policy so I figured I'd at least take it home and try it. It's good sized; about 26 inches? Or whatever the closest standard size is. That's a leap from a measly 13 inch TV, lol. Anyway, the coaxial thingy in the TV itself is screwed up. So I thought, okay, no biggie, I'll just take it back. Well I screwed around with the AV input/output and my VCR, and I got it to work! I can play anything as long as it's through the AV, which works out well because I have a coaxial/AV adapter :) I'm watching Family Guy hehe ... but I can't wait to play some games on it ... it almost looks flat screen but not quite. $20 .. what a steal!

A pretty good day :)

Well, I was sad because today we were supposed to go up to my grandma's, but some lady at my mom's work got sick so my mom went in and worked for her. Oh well.

I finally got up around noon and me and my mom grabbed a bite to eat at the restaurant I work at and stopped at the thrift store where people were pushy and rude :? Some lady was trying to squeeze between an aisle and my mom's cart, and my mom said "Oh, sorry" and started to move the cart and the lady rammed it! My mom is like "Well hang on a sec!" The lady just grunted and went on. Made me laugh...

Later on I talked to my ex, Gus, and his girlfriend and they stopped over and Catherine took at look at my computer because it's being a total pain in the arse; not recognizing my webcam or anything. She knows a lot about computers and she couldn't get it to work so I'm just stuck getting a new one. Oh well, they're pretty cheap these days. But it was cool hanging out, I really like her a lot. She likes this obscure PC game called "AMBER: Journeys Beyond" that I was obsessed with a few years back. Not a lot of people knew about that game. So that was cool 8)

I'm feelin a little tired and stomach-hurty and all that ... I think I'll be okay in the morning ... so I think I'm gonna hit the hay. This flimsy internet connection is still ticking me off :x I have to reconnect like every 15 minutes or so ... grr  So I'm going to bed. Night!

A year in review: 2005.

I stole this from Goins ...

1) Was 2005 a good year for you?
I'd give it a 8/10 ... a whole year with my wonderful boyfriend ... slightly stressful ... nothing like extraordinary happened, however ...

2) What was your favorite moment of the year?
Being in Disneyworld with Mike and his family, or when we were in Cocoa Beach and made that heart in the sand ... or on Sanibel Island, when we nearly got eaten by sharks!!!

3) What was your least favorite moment of the year?
Ehh ... fortunately nothing AWFUL happened ... probably a really bad fight me and Mike had ...

4) Where were you when 2005 began?
At Mike's house, watching the ball drop and drinking sparkling grape juice :)

5) Who were you with?
See above!

6) Where will you be when 2005 ends?
Hopefully at Mike's house, doing the same as last year ... maybe with sake this time, lol ...

7) Who will you be with when 2005 ends?
Mike hopefully!

8) Did you keep your new years resolution of 2005?
I don't think I made any. It's pretty pointless ... nobody keeps them! :?

9) Do you have a new years resolution for 2006?
Nah ... if I made any, it'd be to lose weight ... but I always try to do that.

10) Did you fall in love in 2005?
I fell in love before 2005. Right before ...

15) Did you breakup with anyone in 2005?
Nope!

16) Did you make any new friends in 2005?
Hmm ... I would consider myself friends with a few of Mike's friends. But other than that, just some of the people I work with ... made a few good online friends, like Goins I stole this from

17) Who are your favorite new friends?
Well sheesh ... lol ... friends don't play favorites ..

18) What was your favorite month of 2005?
July :D

19) Did you travel outside of the UK in 2005?
I have to show Goins answer: "well it was just so bloody foggy..and tea time and the what not..."

20) How many different countries did you travel to in 2005?
Uno.

21) Did you lose anybody close to you in 2005?
Fortunately everyone is still here ...

22) Did you miss anybody in the past year?
My dad, I guess ...

23) What was your favorite movie that you saw in 2005?
Hrrm ... "Walk the Line" was good ... "Star Wars: Ep. III" was good ... does the Family Guy movie count? Hehe.

24) What was your favorite song from 2005?
Oh gosh, I dunno, I don't really listen to new music. I liked some of Weezer's newer stuff.

25) What was your favorite record from 2005?
Don't have one!

26) How many concerts did you see in 2005?
Zilcho ...

27) Did you have a favorite concert in 2005?
See above ...

28) Did you drink a lot of alcohol in 2005?
Actually, I didn't drink any!

29) Did you do a lot of drugs in 2005?
I didn't do ANY!

30) Did you do anything you are ashamed of this year?
Nah ... nothing guilty/ashamed of ...

33) What was the worst lie someone told you in 2005?
Well, if anyone did, I don't really know ... so hopefully no one lied to me that bad!

34) Did you treat somebody badly in 2005?
I treated my ex pretty crummy, but he deserved it at the time.

35) Did somebody treat you badly in 2005?
Yes. :?

36) How much money did you spend in 2005?
Um, let's whip out the ol' calculatrice .. I dunno! Too much!

37) What was your proudest moment of 2005?
::sigh:: I don't have a whole lot to be proud of.

39) If you could go back in time to any moment of 2005 and change something, what would it be?
Sunday night in Florida, I was extremely grouchy and kind of ruined a whole night of being there and me and Mike got in that really bad fight. That was the worst moment of this year. I would change that.

40) What are your plans for 2006?
Just go with the flow ... try not to stress ... be as good to everyone as possible ... and do what I want to do!

Grr ...

Even though I'm LOVING my new computer ... it totally rocks and I love it ... now our internet connection is goofing up and we probably won't get high speed till after Christmas bills are piling up like crazy. Especially for me .... my ex offered to have his dad maybe work on my car (timing belt is shot apparently) but I don't want to ask his dad; I mean he's a cool guy but I'd feel bad. Plus, he works as a mechanic anyway and it'd probably take a while for him to get working on my car. So I'll probably call a shop and see how much it's gonna cost ... and I've just been so busy working both jobs; I called off at the restaurant yesterday. I just ran myself ragged not having any days off last week. I did get to go out with Mike and his mom and do some Christmas shopping though :)

But really ... I've just been playing the Sims like crazy  I also picked up Myst III and IV ... I haven't had a chance to play; I've been so busy ... but luckily I have less hours this week. I worked earlier today and only made like $20 :? But ... I just having been coming online as much as I used to but I try to check my friends' blogs when I can ... tomorrow morning we're going up to Cleveland to visit my grandma so I hope the roads aren't bad. Other than that ... me and Mike are doing good ... watched the first Harry Potter movie last night while we wrapped presents :) He'd never seen it! We saw "Goblet of Fire" last weekend and it was so-so ... which was sad because that was my favorite of the 6 books so far :(

We also talked about where we're gonna go on vacation. We've got California, Mexico, or the Bahamas so far. And his stepdad wants to go to Arizona but none of us wanna go there. California would be nice just because ... it's Cali. Mexico would be cool; we wanna see the Nazca Lines and the ruins and all that stuff ... really awesome. Or, who can say no to the Bahamas? I try not to get too excited about this stuff because that guarantees that it won't happen ... but it's still fun to think about :)

I am feeling kinda bleh today though; all clammy ... I've still got my restaurant clothes on ... ::shrugs:: I'm gonna go play some Sims ... ciao!

Best day yesterday!

Even though I had to work from 10 - 3 at the restaurant yesterday and 6 - 11 at the video store ... yesterday rocked because I got my fancy Dell! I'm using it now :D Mike came over and we hooked it up ... this thing's monitor is frigging huge ... I need a new desk though. But it is so crazy ... it doesn't even feel like my computer because I've never had one this nice!

But other than that I haven't really had a whole lot to talk about lately, between working so much and just kinda lounging around. Mike's coming over this morning and his dad is gonna look at my car and see if he can figure out what's wrong. Then we're gonna do a lil bit of shopping .... but yeah, I've just been really tired lately but I can't believe I have this really nice computer ... it's not like top technology but after 5 years of shitty computers, it feels really good! But ... I'm gonna relax a lil bit. Ciao!
